This after Renoir was painted solely for the purpose of raising money for The Foundation For The Arts. It is unmounted shipped rolled up and makes a very impressive Renoir feel. I have studied thr original paolinting for many days in the National Art Gallery and your contribution would really help. Any contribution for several hundred dollars would be 100% tax write off.
These are some of my favorite Santa Barbara Scenes. You may order a hand done commission of any scene you wish, providing I can do it. Mostly I paint plein Aire on location but I can copy one painting, but email me or phone me and let me know of your interest and of course my FoundationForTheArts still has a pulse and can use some help. Paintings done by me are signed D. Osterday...and the whale painting, using the name Willy the Whale, Lahaina, Maui is protected under my copyright. Also use of The Naked Mermaid is under my copyright, all rights reserved. But this playful young whale used to double back to Lahaina when the tour boats would motor off to Lanai or wherever they were in hot pursuit of the the humpbacks. While sitting on the steps and painting Lahaina, so peaceful after the tour boats depart, and then this whale did an acrobatic show, breaching high and wild, and then returned the next day, and a third day, at which time I decided I had to paint the scene. Other artists have tried to nail this Lahaina scene with a whale but you might agree that this is one of the best attempts. Please click on the Hawaiian Art page, for my picture. For the past several years I have been disabled with some nasty arthritis, and now finally am able to sit at a computer long enough to make some changes...and hopefully some of my recorded music will soon be added. Please email me, at [email protected] or text my cell, 480 227-3044. I love to hear from people who share an interest in my art. For many years America has seen me out painting from Maui to Maine, and then the arthritis hit. I am now able to paint for fifteen to twenty minutes in the morning and then some more in the afternoon. Art is and has always been my passion, and I would paint even if nobody ever bought a painting, which hasn't happened all that much. Now I am smiling, that these words are appearing on my website. Enjoy....peace...Hoola I ka moana. Save the ocean, from my new song. Damian.
The Santa Barbara Yacht Club and the Wednesday night races, with Quidado in the lead, the white spinnaker. Most racing boats today don't use a a real spinnaker, but clew to the bow, like the J boats in the scene.
